2000 Shasta Freeport 240MB
This 25 ft. Class C remodelled motorhome has a Chev chassis, powered by a 7.4 L gas engine with power steering, dash air conditioning, cruise control and handles more like a van than a bus.
The bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed and lots of storage. The 4-person table converts into a single bed or, by arranging the pillows, into a 3-person couch. The space over the driver's compartment can be used for a bed or storage.
There is a 3-piece bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower.
The kitchen has a double sink, 4-burner stove and oven, 1.5 cu ft microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker and ample cupboard storage.
For entertainment, there's a flat screen TV with Bell XpressVu dish (only in Canada) and a DVD player.
An overhead air conditioner and forced air furnace help maintain the right temperature.

As novices to RVing, we had some struggles for the first few days as we learned how everything worked. We had an incident on the first day with one tire losing pressure...down to 20 psi. Fortunately, we were in a town with a truck service centre and were able to get this fixed. Road Side Assistance was prepared to pay for the repairs (approximately $34) however the owner had already called and arranged for payment. It is worth noting that the tire gauge set off an alert warning us that there was a problem with a tire. A helpful device for certain.
The RV is older and is somewhat noisy....lots of creaks and rattles. It has been well cared for by the owner and everything seemed to be in good working order. The Serious Radio failed after a few days and displayed a message to call. Of course, we didn't know where to call so were unable to sort this out. It is likely something minor.
All in all, it was a good experience and we found Gord to be very helpful in preparing us for our first RV experience.
